I Made This...

First craft posted: CHECK.

What? You can't really tell what it is?  Well that's because I took a really shitty picture this morning while running out the door to work and this is what you get!

What is it you ask?  Well good question.  I always feel an explanation should start at the beginning...it's a postcard frame. Then End.

How did I make it?  An eight foot long piece of 1x2 (primed) cut into two 18" pieces and two 30" pieces.  Attached the pieces to make a frame, then ordered some lovely baker's twine from TwineAndTape on www.Etsy.com and stapled that bad boy all over the back.  I didn't really make any sort of pattern, just stapled where I thought it would work well.

I also bought a couple packages of natural wood mini clothespins like these I found on Newegg.  I only needed one package, but I'm sure I can find something to use the other 25 on.  Anyway, I used Rit Dye in Navy to color the pins a nice dark blue and wallah, you have a nice, inexpensive card frame for all of those holiday cards.

I plan on mounting it to the wall tonight using Velcro Command Strips; perhaps I'll post an update with a better view.

*Side note*

Is it tacky if I want to put our own Christmas card up?  I just love it so much :)
